About the Opportunity

The Communications & STEM Manager is a varied and exciting role that is responsible for leading outreach activities across the Australian and New Zealand University sector and broader scientific community, as part of our long standing association with ANSTO (the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation). Reporting to the Managing Director, the position will support the strategic engagement of business partners across the University sector and Industry.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversight of internal and external events, including supervision of two reporting staff and a casual pool as required.
  • Initiate outreach activities in line with the organisation’s strategic growth targets.
  • Advocate communication across the current and prospective membership base highlighting benefits and achievements.
  • Promote the brand to initiate opportunities to support business growth.

Selection Criteria

Are you ready to take on a challenging role that offers growth opportunities and the chance to make a real impact? We are looking for candidates who possess the following seven attributes:

 

  • Degree in Communications, Science or Engineering with demonstrated business experience.
  • An experienced public speaker.
  • Demonstrated interest in science, technology and/or engineering.
  • Extensive experience in developing and delivering both face to face and digital content.
  • Proven time management and organisational skills, including ability to plan, schedule and prioritise multiple tasks/projects with a high level of detail for own role and direct reports.
  • Event management experience highly regarded.
  • Ability to play a key role in business growth.
