About the Opportunity
The Asset Maintenance and Manipulator Technician role is to maintain, install, and diagnose faults on a range of different manipulators used for the remote handling of materials in a radioactive environment across site. Additionally, the role supports the mechanical maintenance team to deliver quality and efficient asset maintenance services within ANSTO to ensure that plant, equipment and infrastructure is in safe working order, reliable and complies with relevant regulatory standards.

Your Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manipulators, assets and equipment relevant to discipline in accordance with approved procedures to contribute to ANSTO plant and equipment safety and reliability.
- Investigate, identify, fault finding and maintenance of various types of manipulators and associated components.
- Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair of manipulators and other mechanical/electrical components.
- Exercise a flexible approach to work and tasks to ensure repairs to manipulators & other related equipment are completed to appropriate standards without interrupting production activities.
- Monitor stock levels of spares, consumables and reorder as required using SAP.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns in hot cells and provide technical advice on maintenance and performance issues 24/7.
- Ensure maintenance records (SAP database, work orders, records sheets, etc) are prepared and updated in a timely manner and that the supervisor is kept informed of progress of work.
- Ensure maintenance work is carried out to meet client requirements and ANSTO safety rules, TGA and ARPANSA regulations, ISO AS/NZL 9001:2008 and ISO 14001, BMS, OHSE directives, procedures, standards and regulations.
- Function effectively as a member of a maintenance team, not limited to undertaking responsibilities as a senior member of the team by promoting teamwork, safety, productivity, high quality work & service and focus on improvements to work methods and techniques and assist with the implementation of safety programs and initiatives to ensure a strong safety culture in embedded with the team.
