About the Opportunity

Ansto is seeking to employ an experienced Electrical/I&C Design Drafting Project Officer to provide technical design and drafting services supporting customer and project requirements including investigation, concept development, detail design & drafting through to final commissioning and handover.

About You

The Design Drafting Office is responsible for delivery of all ANSTO engineering Design Drafting. This office is aligned to support Engineering Special & External Projects Group & major customer portfolios.

the Electrical Design Drafting Officer will be required to Design and detail control systems, electrical power distribution and maintain site records for existing infrastructure using  Autocad Electrical as the primary software tool

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continually develop skills whilst utilising Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) design tools to undertake design and drafting activities that meet customer requests on time, within agreed budget and with risks appropriately managed. Ensure work is checked by senior colleague and approved and agreed through appropriate channels. 
  • Produce work in line with applicable ISO Standards and IES Business Management system so output meets, and is consistent with, regulatory and quality standard requirements. If required, ensure work requiring statuary approval is approved by the designated approvals officer.
  • Work closely with Support Workshops and or Site Services during manufacture and installation answering all enquiries in a responsive manner.
  • Participate as a team member in the Design Drafting Office to aid development and share ideas and information to assist Team members to understand the work requested and in meeting deliverables and objectives.
  • Prioritise and undertake multiple tasks to meet the project deadlines and assess the viability of proposed approaches, and exercise experience and judgement in order to select and provide advice on the most effective techniques and methods.
