About the Opportunity

 

The Physical Security Adviser ensures that ANSTO meets its regulatory obligations by the deployment and operation of leading-edge physical security infrastructure and the provision of professional technical security advice across the organisation.

A current national security clearance with a background in Security in Government will be a strong advantage when being considered for the role.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare physical security plans and conduct security risk analysis, reviews, inspections and investigations as required
  • Provide expert advice in day to day physical security operational matters and technical security security measures to meet organisational needs
  • Assist in the technical design, including writing specifications, maintenance and where necessary upgrade, of physical and electronic security infrastructure across the organisation that meets regulatory requirements and global best practice
  • Project management of specific Security & Safeguards projects relating to Physical Security
  • Security Service Provider contract oversight, supervision and assurance activities.
  • Manage the maintenance program for the physical security system ensuring compliance and contractual obligations are met.
  • Responsible for operational interoperability initiatives, in liaison with key stakeholders meeting the physical protection requirements for nuclear and associated materials and facilities, national security requirements (PSPF) and procedures are applied and maintained
