As a Quality Engineer at ANSTO, you’ll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining quality systems that ensure compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement across engineering and maintenance operations. This position supports audits, risk management, and process optimisation, while contributing to initiatives that enhance forecasting accuracy and operational performance—making a real impact on organisational excellence and future-focused outcomes.

Your Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Engineer supports the development, implementation, and assurance of engineering quality systems across maintenance and operational activities. Key responsibilities include assisting with audits, reviewing quality management plans, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and helping develop practical solutions that enhance forecasting accuracy and operational performance.

 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the engineering quality documentation such as inspection plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in root cause investigations for quality issues and assist in developing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Learn and apply industry standards and regulations.
  • Support engineering quality management continuous improvement efforts.
