About the Opportunity

The Radioactive Waste Management Specialist supports a growing team of radiation professionals operating in the field, working on a wide range of commercial projects.

The Radiation and Nuclear Waste Services (R&WNS) business provides external clients with a wide range of consulting, project management and delivery services to the market.  The successful candidate will collaborate with business enablers, clients, suppliers and specialists to deliver outstanding project results.

About You

"The ideal candidate is someone currently is experienced with Radioactive waste collections and disposals and is competent with radiation protection, & Survey/clearance, technical skills and has the ability to learn broader related business skills" -  Darren Mason, Manager Radiation & Nuclear Waste Services

 

Radiation: Radioactive waste, Radiation protection principles, survey & clearance, packaging and transport, & source licencing

Process: SWEMS development, chemical and workplace safety standards, and Project Management 

 

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of external waste disposal projects, including costings, methods, and use of appropriate contractors, or suppliers.
  • Manage client inventory characterisation, documentation and source licence reporting  
  • conduct technical investigations on inventories (where appropriate)
  • Work with internal stakeholders, enablers and clients to provide optional project outcomes 
  • Working within the ANSTO frameworks governances and radiation protection frameworks
